Dajo's real name — Arnold Gerrit Henske. He was born 6 august 1912 years in Rotterdam. Nol, as his friends called him, was fond of drawing and in 20 years headed a group of architects in a design bureau.

Nol Henske has had strange experiences in childhood and adolescence.. So, he once painted a portrait of his deceased aunt, who has lived all her life in South Africa and which he has never seen. He managed to portray her with such precision, as if she posed for him. Often, waking up in the morning, Arnold was surprised to find, that hands and sheets are stained with paint, and the studio is a mess. He drew good pictures in his sleep., without even waking up and remembering nothing… «Coup» in Nola's life happened on… 33-m year of life. It was then that he realized, that his body is invulnerable. Arnold quit his job and moved to Amsterdam, where he wandered through cafes and bars and offered visitors… stab yourself. Soon the whole town was talking about him.

Arnold Henske changed his name not for advertising purposes, and therefore, what does Mirin Dajo mean in Esperanto «miraculous», «amazing». He, like many contemporaries, thought, that with the help of this artificial language, mankind will be able to overcome communication barriers between peoples.

X-ray, confirming the unique properties of the invulnerable organism

Certainly, Even the doctors checked, more than once. In the end of May 1947 of the year he demonstrated his talents at the Zurich Cantonal Hospital. Normally, Mi-rin stripped to the waist. On the day of Dajo, they pierced more 50 once, and a few days more 100 once. Sharp knitting needles and rapiers cut through the heart, lungs and spleen, sometimes through several organs at the same time, there was no blood. From time to time, the blades sprinkled with poison or deliberately rusted. In one performance in Zurich, to prove to the public, that this is not cheating, Dajo pierced with three hollow 8mm tubes, through which water was supplied.
Dajo claimed, that it is not metal that passes through him, and it goes through metal. He dematerialized that part of the body, through which the weapon passed.
But Dajo remained essentially an ordinary person.. His condition, According to him, had the ability to turn on and off. He even broke his arm once, but immediately set the bone, and the fracture disappeared."
Despite, that daggers and rapiers did not cause any harm to Dajo himself, viewers often fainted. During one of the performances in Switzerland, a particularly impressionable spectator suffered a heart attack. At the show in Zurich «Corso» the rapier touched a bone. Hearing in absolute silence a soft grinding, several people fainted. It all ended with that, that Dajo was banned from performing in large halls. I had to limit myself to small cafes and bars. However, Mirin did not complain. After all, he started just from such sites…
Groot believed, what Mirin knew about imminent death. When he left Holland a few months earlier, then told him, that he won't see his homeland again. Before the fatal experiment, Dajo asked Groot not to help him., to avoid responsibility later…

In an interview with the popular magazine Mirin Dajo once said: «I am not an actor, and the prophet. If you believe in God, then you can learn to control your body…»
