Picture or pixels? Taxi or checkers?

Sometimes information is visually perceived erroneously. Especially if you select a small part from it and enlarge it under a microscope. For example, take a clear and clear picture on the computer — some image is clearly and clearly visible and you can admire it. But if you enlarge this picture on a computer several times, then we will see some kind of chaos of pixels and this will no longer cause us aesthetic pleasure — shit, not a picture…
The same is true with long-term systems for trading exchange instruments., for example, with the period of the middle position in 20-70 days. I'm not talking about investing or strategies, approaching the concept “bought and keep”.
Here is the equity test against the long-term trend following system for the US futures portfolio.. The relative smoothness of the lines can be admired for a relatively long time. :)

What will happen, if we look at any one of twenty years.

It is seen, that the smoothness of the lines in these cases is not necessary to admire. I didn’t look even deeper., for example six months or a month. Even in spite of super-profitable individual market rises, не каждый trader сможет дождаться этих подъемов и закончит играть такую стратегию как раз на дне просадки, unable to bear it.
But who is not a short-term visitor in the market?, for whom the game on the market is not limited to three months to get rich during this time, and who for a long time, that one through 20 years will be able to boast that the average profitability for this period was 100% per annum, while omitting the consideration of the whole picture through the prism of pixels…. :)
