How sleep affects your results
Emotional Memory Scientific American described a study, during which half of the subjects were sleep deprived during the last 36 hours. The aim of the follow-up survey was to rate the emotional content of words as positive., negative or neutral. After two nights of restorative sleep, the subjects took the test again., during which they were asked to remember, what words did they see. Compared to the control group, test subjects, sleep deprived, remembered on 40% fewer test words. Such a severe negative effect on memory in itself should be avoided., but further more.
