Luck means a lot in algorithmic trading. Just the other day I mentioned this and immediately had the opportunity to demonstrate it in practice.. First, I managed to buy shares at the very low of the day, and after the close of the session, extremely important news for the company came out and the next day the shares soared by 25%. Due to such luck, it is possible to show profitability, which do not fit into the standard schemes of critics of algorithmic trading. Luck, certainly, needs to be developed and trained, since it does not come by itself. By the way, such transactions in the United States are always checked for the use of insider information and if he was a relative of one of the company's executives, probably would have been summoned for questioning :)
