new books (Greenspan, Ramachandran, Badge)

The Map and the Territory: Risk, Human Nature, and the Future of Forecasting | [Alan Greenspan] The Tell-Tale Brain: A Neuroscientist's Quest for What Makes Us Human | [V. S. Ramachandran] Lombard Street: A Description of the Money Market | [Walter Bagehot]

Greenspan – this is sacred :) Read and listen to it, as always, nice. At least as an intellectual exercise. Maybe, to paraphrase someone from the people who earned in 2008 – Allan, maybe he was wrong in many ways, but these are ex post errors, and, attitude errors, not thinking errors. Ie, Greenspan, let u get it all wrong, but still extremely smart. Something like this :)

Ramachandran – появилась аудио версия Books, naturally, I could not miss this. The story of Capgras syndrome this TED video – one of my favorites when dealing with psychoanalysts. Tested several times, the result is just wonderful. Even, if we talk about research, they don't back down anyway :) All in all, it's a sin not to read.

Budget wrote his book in 1873 year. I have long wanted to read it, and then after Curser's Economics of Money and Banking I remembered this. Basically, the modern financial system seems more like the times described in the book, than a standard macro tutorial. Think, what's the story (especially within the framework of the banking school) won't hurt anyone.
